Vegan Brunch FAQ:
Off The Griddle Portland

Questions about our menu, hours, locations, or what makes Off The Griddle Portland's go-to plant-based brunch spot? You're in the right place. We've been serving 100% vegan comfort food at our NE Alberta St and SE Foster Rd locations seven days a week since 2010. Find answers below — or just come in hungry.

What kind of restaurant is Off The Griddle?
Off The Griddle is a 100% vegan and vegetarian brunch restaurant in Portland, Oregon. We serve plant-based comfort food — waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambles, hash plates, breakfast sandwiches, and more — along with a full bar featuring craft cocktails, bloody marys, and mimosas. Everything on our menu is entirely plant-based. We have two Portland locations: NE Alberta St and SE Foster Rd.
Is Off The Griddle 100% vegan?
Yes — completely. Every item on our menu is 100% plant-based. No meat, no dairy, no eggs. We've been an all-vegan restaurant since day one and we're not changing that. If you're looking for vegan brunch in Portland where you never have to ask "is this vegan?" — this is the place.
How long has Off The Griddle been open?
Off The Griddle started as a Portland food cart in 2010, making us one of the city's longest-running vegan concepts. We opened our SE Foster Rd brick-and-mortar in 2017 and added our NE Alberta St location in 2024. Over 15 years of plant-based brunch in Portland — and still going strong.
How is Off The Griddle different from other vegan brunch spots in Portland?
A few things set us apart: we have two convenient Portland locations, a full bar program at both spots, a menu built entirely on comfort food classics, strong gluten-free options throughout, and online ordering for pickup with zero extra fees. We've been doing this since 2010 — longer than most. We're a neighborhood institution, not a trend.

What are the most popular dishes at Off The Griddle?
Guest favorites include our vegan waffles, biscuits and gravy, the Full Mess breakfast plate, hash plates, and breakfast sandwiches. On the bar side, our signature Bloody Mary and mimosas are perennial hits. Our plant-based comfort food menu is built for bold flavors and satisfying portions — nothing skimpy, nothing timid.
Do you serve vegan biscuits and gravy?
Yes — and it's one of our most beloved dishes. Our vegan biscuits and gravy is made entirely plant-based and is the kind of comfort food that converts skeptics. It's a Portland brunch staple.
Do you serve vegan waffles?
Absolutely. Our vegan waffles are a menu cornerstone — crispy outside, fluffy inside, and entirely plant-based. Available with a range of toppings and sides.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes — Off The Griddle has robust gluten-free options throughout the menu. Many of our most popular dishes are available gluten-free or can be easily modified. Menu items are labeled, and our staff are happy to help you navigate. It's one of the reasons we're a go-to for people managing multiple dietary restrictions.
Is the menu good for non-vegans?
Yes — and this surprises a lot of first-timers. Off The Griddle is a favorite for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. Our comfort food is built to satisfy regardless of your diet. A huge portion of our regulars aren't vegan. If you've been dragged here by a vegan friend, you'll probably end up the one suggesting it next time.
Do you have a full bar?
Yes — both Off The Griddle locations have a full bar. We serve craft cocktails, our signature Bloody Marys, mimosas, local beer, cider, and kombucha on draft. We're one of the few fully vegan brunch spots in Portland with a serious bar program. Brunch without a Bloody Mary is just breakfast.
Do you serve mimosas and bloody marys?
We do — and we take them seriously. Our Bloody Mary menu is a signature offering, and our mimosas are made with locally squeezed OJ. Come thirsty.
Do you take reservations?
Off The Griddle operates on a walk-in basis at both locations. We do not take reservations for regular brunch service. For large group inquiries or catering, email us at offthegriddlepdx@gmail.com.
Do you offer takeout or online ordering?
Yes. You can order online for pickup at both locations — no extra fees. We're also on DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats for delivery. To-go orders may be limited on busy weekend mornings, so ordering ahead is smart.
Do you offer catering?
Yes — Off The Griddle does catering for events, offices, and gatherings. Email offthegriddlepdx@gmail.com with your event details and we'll work something out.
Are you dog-friendly?
Yes — leashed dogs are welcome on our outdoor patio areas. We love dogs. Portland brunch and dogs go together.
